For competitive teams, a traditional rucksack (backpack) is required. Non-competitive teams (no official ranking) may opt to use weighted vests instead.
Ruck Weight Requirements:
- Participants weighing over 150 lbs must carry a minimum of 30 lbs in their rucksack
- Participants weighing 150 lbs or less must carry a minimum of 20 lbs in their rucksack
To maintain event fairness and integrity, rucksacks will be officially weighed at both the start and finish lines. Competitive teams are required to use a traditional backpack-style rucksack. Event personnel may conduct additional weight verification checks throughout the course.
Note: Teams not competing for awards may alternatively use weighted vests.
You can join an existing team up until race day. However, to ensure you receive your race shirt and bib, register by June 30th. Team creation closes on this date as well.
Team members must wear their official race bib visibly when on the course. These identification markers are crucial for event staff, local supporters, and first responders to quickly recognize and assist participants during the race.
